Freedom House is supported by volunteer teams spanning 25 different areas. Whether you're a new attender, or you've attended for a while and have wanted to serve, or even if you're currently serving and looking for a different areas, we'd love to have you!

All Areas

Coffee Shoppe

The Coffee Shoppe encourages community in an open, inviting, and comfortable environment. This team provides our guests warm and friendly hospitality, serving tasty delights as quickly and friendly as possible.

These team members should be highly motivated, responsible, reliable, and friendly. An ability to work under pressure is also a plus, because as our church continues to grow the Coffee Shoppe will continue to be busy. Hospitality experience is a plus, but not required.

This team offers roles including shoppers, baristas, servers, and check out. Background checks are required as these team members deal with church funds.

Communications

Our communications team helps people to connect with Jesus and with Freedom House through excellent, easy-to use and easy to maintain tools. Volunteers on this team work closely with Director of Communications and use their specialized communication, creative and technological skills to represent Freedom House. This team has many roles within 3 areas: creative print and copy, digital media, and administration. The roles on this team include:
• Writing
• Photography
• Proofers/ Editors
• Live Chat Hosting
• Administration
Strong communication skills are required; experience and training in related fields are preferred due to the high visibility of the materials produced by this team. With deadlines being critical to this team’s success, it is also important that volunteers on this team are able to meet deadlines. These volunteers must also be open to feedback and critique.

FHKids

This dedicated team serves our children during our weekend services. We share God’s message with our "now generation" on their level, in a way that's suitable to each age group. Members of this team have the unique opportunity to inspire for Christ through fun!

Members of this team have a high sense of personal accountability, a love for children, and a heart for people. We're in a unique position to support families through serving their youngest members. This team also requires flexibility because of the ages we serve. Members of this team have the unique opportunity to bring Jesus' love to kids in the most creative and relevant ways! Fun, engaging classrooms and worship experiences with our children are a priority in all we do. Creativity is also a great quality, as we have the unique opportunity to bring fresh ideas to our classrooms every weekend.

A separate application and background check are required for this team, since members are responsible for our most precious gifts from God. This team is committed to protecting these little ones, as well as loving them.

FHKids Check-In

We strive to make all attendees and visitors feel welcomed, valued, and part of the Freedom House family. Our Check-in team is available to answer or filter questions and provide direction as needed to parents checking their children into FHKids for ministry time. These team members are located at the check in stations throughout the lobby, and they also help with first time registration of children into our FHKids program. It's important that individuals serving on this team are comfortable talking to and greeting all guests in ways that are comfortable to the receiver. Volunteers serving on this team should also have a natural love and desire to help people and children as many times our visitors will be rushed or have a handful of things and little ones to keep up with.

Greeters

This team helps create an atmosphere where people who walk through our doors feel as if they have come home. This is where they'll begin the journey of experiencing Christ’s freedom in their everyday lives! Members of this team understand that they provide the first impression of Freedom House. It's our goal to deliver a great first impression, and make every impression after that a lasting one. This team stands at our doors and throughout our lobby, greeting families as they enter the building. On rainy days, this team greets those without umbrellas in the parking lot. We cover them with FH umbrellas and connect with them as they make their way to the building. It's critical that members of this team have a natural tendency toward loving, helping, and interacting with people. Team members are proactive, meeting our guests’ needs as they see them. This team understands its role in authentically representing Jesus to families who may not know him yet.

Guest Central

This team helps create an atmosphere where those who walk through our doors feel as if they have come home. Here they can begin the journey of experiencing Christ’s freedom in their everyday lives. This team connects with first time guest at Guest Central, and stays with our new guests through their assimilation into the church.

Members meet guests at the front door, walk them through FHKids check in if needed, and escort them into the main auditorium for service. They answer questions and contribute to a welcoming experience. This team also conducts follow up contact with first-time guests, helping to answer their questions and getting them connected.

Members of this team should have a natural tendency toward loving, helping, and interacting with people. Team members are proactive, meeting our guests’ needs as they seem them. This team understands its charge to authentically representing Jesus as we serve families who may not know Jesus yet or are looking for a home to connect with him. These team members should also be empathetic, understanding that many people coming through our doors are or have been hurt.

Hospitality

This team helps care for team members involved in our weekend service experiences. We're responsible for set up, reset, and clean-up of the two green rooms dedicated solely to weekend worship experience team members. This team creates the food menus and works closely with our Connection Coordinator to accommodate needs and requests for our special guests.

Members of this team need a strong sense of attention to detail and drive for excellence. Presentation is key, and a moderate level of hospitality talents and skills are helpful.

Junior Vertical

Junior Vertical "JV" is our weekly student worship service for 5th-6th grade. We provide a cutting-edge way for students to experience, encounter, and learn about God during our weekend services.

Members joining this team need a high level of personal accountability, commitment, and love for students. Many times these students look forward to and thrive from building lasting relationships with their leaders. With the level of influence that comes in working with the students, it's critical that these team members are Christ-like role models to our students. This team also requires flexibility. With this team being small and laser focused, team members should model servant leadership and be prepared to offer ideas and help where needed. Creativity is also a great quality, as we have the unique opportunity to bring fresh ideas to reach and engage with the students.

MVMNT

MVMNT "Movement" is the young adults ministry of Freedom House Church that meets every Sunday at 9pm. We are looking for volunteers to help with setup, teardown, worship, production, and ministry.

Parking Team

The overall church experience begins in the parking lot. Rain or shine, this team ensures adequate parking space for who come to the church. Team members are often the first to welcome people with a friendly and warm greeting. They help cars safely navigate our parking lot, manage the flow of traffic, and greet guests as they arrive. With this being a first contact team, it's important that team members take the initiative to help others. Members should be very personable, as many times people may ask questions before entering the church building. Team members should also be flexible, as they will adjust locations at a moment’s notice based on need.

Production Team

This team is responsible for scripting, filming, and editing church video projects. These include service bumpers, preview announcements, special announcement and event coverage.

Technical and/or live production technical experience is required in this area due to the high visibility of the materials produced. With deadlines being critical to this team’s success, it's also important that volunteers on this team are able to meet deadlines. These volunteers must also be open to feedback and critique, as leaders may take a different direction or request changes. These changes are never a reflection of the creator or their creativity, but simply may be modified to better match the vision of the project owner. It is a plus for these team members to have possession of your own filming and editing materials.

SALT Bookstore

Special Events

This team makes all of our special events happen, from planning, to set up and break down. These events encourage fellowship and fun throughout the community. For any given event, we can have up to 120 distinct roles. This team handles a wide array of events including but not limited to our water baptisms, holiday events, and large church wide events.

Members of this team need a strong sense of attention to detail, drive for excellence, and accountability. The ability to work under pressure is a plus, as the weeks up until an event come and pass quickly. Effective team work is also needed as team members will need to mobilize sub teams to complete tasks in anticipation of and during events. This is definitely a place for those who like new and exciting projects.

Ushers

Our ushers provide a welcoming first impression and atmosphere for visitors, greeting and seating them in an appropriate and orderly manner. Our ushers promote an atmosphere where all feel welcomed, meeting the needs of the congregation during services, and keeping distractions to a minimum. While our ushers promote order, it's critical that they display a love for people. Those on this team should be personable and compassionate, with a desire to help others.

Vertical

Vertical is our weekly student worship service. We provide a cutting-edge way for students to experience, encounter, and learn about God through weekly services, small groups, and dedicated LifeGroups.
Members joining this team need a high level of personal accountability, commitment, and love for students. Many times these students look forward to and thrive from building lasting relationships with their leaders. With the level of influence that comes in working with the students, it's critical that these team members are Christ-like role models to our students. This team also requires flexibility. With this team being small and laser focused, team members should model servant leadership and be prepared to offer ideas and help where needed. Welcome Center

This team provides information for Freedom House guests and attenders. This team works to make everyone, and especially those who are saved for the first time, feel welcomed, valued, and part of the Freedom House family. Team members do this through serving and being available at our Welcome Center to give directions, distribute information to newly saved members, and record and distribute service CDs. As this is one of our primary host positions, these team members will need to be people-loving and friendly, and have great communications skills.

Worship Team

This team leads our congregation in honoring God through music, creating an atmosphere where people may experience God’s presence and are inspired to worship Him with all they are. Our worship team is made up of vocalist and musicians who own and are proficient with their own instruments. Team members should have strong music inclinations, be proficient in playing their instrument, quickly be able to learn songs through listening and/or reading chord charts, be adaptable, and be open to critique. This is a leadership ministry, and members of this team should live their lives as such, both on and off stage. Team members must have a genuine love for God and be comfortable leading others in their expression of this love. The ability to work with others is critical, as this team works not only in conjunction with other team members, but also with the pastors and stage speakers.
