beginning your relationship with god!
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 NKJV
This is the Gospel and the word “Gospel” means GOOD NEWS. It means something amazing has happened, and you need to know all about it! Jesus died on the cross to set us free from sin. That means that God’s plan for you is to live in freedom!
God offers us this amazing gift by his grace, and we receive it by faith. That means that we don’t deserve it and can not earn it. It is a free gift from God to everyone who puts their trust in Jesus!
This gift of salvation offers us freedom is three important ways… an easy way to remember it is the three P’s.
Jesus offers us freedom from sin’s PENALTY.
This means that by trusting in Jesus, we are justified (just as is we never sinned) before God. Justification happens the moment we believe and is 100% complete. If you have put your faith in Jesus, your sins are totally and completely forgiven. Being declared “justified” by God means he no longer holds our sins against us! (Romans 5:1-2, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Ephesians 2:8)
Jesus offers us freedom from sin’s POWER.
This means that after we have been forgiven of our sins, God begins to work inside us to make us more like Jesus. This is a lifelong process the Bible calls sanctification, it is process of God changing us from the inside out. God gives us power over sin so we can live in freedom, but we have to choose to give God ownership of each area of our heart and life.
Jesus offers us freedom from sin’s PRESENCE.
The Bible tells us that one day we will receive a glorified body just like Jesus. There will no longer be any effects of sin, no more death, no more sadness, no more pain. The best part of salvation is we will be face to face with Jesus forever!
God sent Jesus to die for you because he wants to have a personal relationship with you. Our sin separates us from God so he took care of it once and for all. Jesus conquered sin for us, so we can live everyday in his Freedom!
If you have never received this gift of salvation and would like to put your faith in Jesus right now, simply pray the following prayer from your heart:
Father, thank you for sending your son, Jesus. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and that he rose from the dead. Please forgive me of my sins and give me the gift of your Holy Spirit. I put my faith in Jesus now to save me and change me. I am asking you to make me new, and I receive all of this by faith right now, in Jesus’ name! AMEN
baptism in water
Water Baptism. Being submerged in water is a public way to celebrate the spiritual change that happened when you were born again. It’s a symbol of having died and been buried, then coming up out of the grave free of our old dead selves (John 3:3-21; Acts 8:27-39). Water baptism does not save you; it’s a celebration of being saved. This is why water baptism is only offered to those who understand salvation and are saved.
baptism in the holy spirit
God eternally exists in three equal persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1,26,27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14). The Holy Spirit is the “doer,” doing the work of the Father and the Son (Genesis 1:2; John 15:26). The Holy Spirit is the spiritual friend who comes alongside us and empowers us with God’s presence.
THE WORD SPIRIT MEANS A BREATH OR WIND THAT BRINGS LIFE
- Old Testament: ruwach (Hebrew)- violent exhale, blast of breath, strong wind.
- Genesis 1:2- “Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit [ruwach- breath] of God was hovering over the waters.”
- New Testament: pneuma (Greek)- breath or wind, current of air, strong breeze.
- John 6:63- “The Spirit [pneuma-breath] gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit [pneuma-breath] and they are life.”
The Holy Spirit is like the wind. You can’t see the wind itself, but you can feel it and see its effects in action. Sometimes it’s powerful like a strong storm, and other times it’s gentle and refreshing. Likewise, we can’t see the Holy Spirit, but we can feel, experience, and observe the power and comfort of the Holy Spirit’s presence.
THE HOLY SPIRIT’S ROLE IN OUR LIVES
Being filled with the Holy Spirit is a free gift from Jesus Christ to anyone who is both saved and willing
to receive it (Mark 1:8, Luke 11:13; Acts 19:1- 6). This baptism sometimes comes in the form of a spiritual
language (also known as ‘tongues’), as seen in Acts 2:4.
- Remove all barriers
- Request the gifts of the Holy Spirit
- Receive Him by faith
- Relate to Him daily
- Release your spiritual gifts with confidence
grow in YOUR RELATIONSHIP
The best relationships are developed by spending time together. God wants to spend time with you. He wants a relationship with you. He also wants you to develop a healthy identity. The Bible says:
“Therefore, if anyone is In Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
The Bible is the inspired word of God and is, therefore, our authoritative and infallible guide in all things. It contains a record of God’s heart for people since the beginning of time and can give life and freedom to everyone (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21).
An easy acronym to help you study the Word of God is S.O.A.P. which stands for Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer. It is the best way of getting the most out of your time in God’s word. We offer online prayer every Tuesday morning from 6:30-7am on our Instagram and Facebook pages.
develop healthy relationships
People are beings created by God and made in His image. Jesus came to bring us back into relationship with God (John 10:10, Colossians 1:21- 23) and destroy the devil’s influence (1 John 3:8). He did this through His death, burial and resurrection. God loves and cares about people and He wants us to do the same. That’s why healthy relationships are such a big deal to us. We encourage healthy relationships by connecting in our LifeGroups and through serving on the Dream Team.

WHAT DO WE BELIEVE ABOUT TITHING?
1. A tithe is 10% of your income.
“And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s. It is holy to the Lord” (Leviticus 27:30)
2. Tithing demonstrates that God has first place in my life.
“The purpose of tithing is to teach you to always put God in first place in your lives.” (Deuteronomy 14:23)
3. Tithing reminds me that everything I have was given to me by God.
“Always remember that it is the Lord your God who gives you the ability to produce wealth.” (Deuteronomy 8:18)
4. Tithing expresses my love to the Lord.
“Each of you should bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord your God has blessed you.” (Deuteronomy 16:17)
5. Tithing gives God a chance to prove He exists and wants to bless you.
“Bring your whole tithe to My storehouse. Test me in this” says the Lord, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you won’t have room enough for it!” (Malachi 3:10)
6. The tithe should be given to the place you and your family worship.
“Bring your whole tithe to My Storehouse (Temple).” (Malachi 3:10)
7. There are several ways to give:
Cash/Check, On-Site Giving Boxes, Online, Live Stream, Text2Give, and via our mobile app. For more information, click here.
What is the Tithe Challenge?
The Tithe Challenge is a 90-day challenge based on the promise of Malachi 3:10-11.
“Bring your full tithe to the Temple treasury so there will be ample provisions in my Temple. Test me in this and see if I don’t open up heaven itself to you and pour out blessings beyond your wildest dreams. For my part, I will defend you against marauders, protect your wheat fields and vegetable gardens against plunderers” (Malachi 3:10-11 MSG).
If giving away 10 percent of your income is more than you’re prepared to commit, don’t let that stop you. Start somewhere by simply choosing a percentage to give. Take the challenge today! Click here.
What is Kingdom Builders?
Kingdom Builders allows us to make room for every person who comes to Freedom House in search of hope.
Be generous with your lives. By opening up to others you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16b MSG).
Kingdom Builders isn’t just another program. Kingdom Builders are people! Ordinary people who generously give of their resources to build God’s house. This isn’t a house made of brick and mortar; it’s made of lives impacted, transformed and set free by the truth of God’s love.
What is Liberty?
Every year at Freedom House, we set our sights on a dream list. This list targets areas in our church and in our world where we can make a tangible difference with our finances. We want to make it easy for people to hear the message of Jesus.
To see those dreams come to pass, each person at Freedom House (little ones, teens, new Christ-followers and long-timers) should start with prayer. We ask God what He wants us to give, and how He wants us to gather those funds. That’s when the fun begins as we use our creativity and ingenuity to raise funds for the Big Give!
Liberty isn’t about who can give the most.
It’s about trusting God, even when it’s uncomfortable and seeing what he can do with the resources in our hand.
