ConnectGrowServe

Why do we serve? Because Jesus did.

  • All these things [the gifts, the achievements, the abilities, the empowering] are brought about by one and the same [Holy] Spirit, distributing to each one individually just as He chooses. 1 Corinthians 12:11

  • “Just as each one of you has received a special gift [a spiritual talent, an ability graciously given by God], employ it in serving one another as good stewards of God’s multi-faceted grace.”
    1 Peter 4:10

He gives it to give it away.

Discovering and exercising your God-given spiritual gifts allows you to experience maximum fulfillment with minimum frustration in your Christian life and ministry.

  • “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
    Matthew 20:28 NIV

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
    John 15:13

We believe that the local church is the hope of the world and when we serve others the Gospel is shared, the vision expands, and lives will be changed by Jesus!

Where do we serve?

Dream Team

Our Dream Team consists of all Freedom House volunteer teams. They host our weekend services + events, set the table for a five-star guest experience, mobilize outreach teams to serve Charlotte, and create the environment for life change.

  • Our ushers provide a welcoming and excellent atmosphere for guests to enjoy our services.

  • This team connects with first-time guests — making them feel welcome, answering any questions, and guiding them during their first visit.

  • The overall church experience begins in the parking lot. This team helps safely navigate our parking lot and greets our guests as they arrive.

  • Greeters are one of the first impressions a guest has when joining us. Greeters get to love on everyone as they come to service — opening doors, shaking hands, and giving hugs and high-fives.

  • Our SALT team helps equip people with resources and information for them to apply in their everyday lives.

  • This team provides a full-service coffee shoppe experience for our guests creating a warm and friendly atmosphere of hospitality.

  • This team makes all of our events happen. From the planning to execution, they set the table and create an excellent experience for our guests during holidays and churchwide events.

  • This team sets the table for everyone who walks through our doors on Sunday. They help maintain the look and feel of the campus.

  • This team creatively sets the table for our green room guests and worship team, providing them with food + refreshments as they serve.

  • This team creates a fun + engaging experience for children ages 6 weeks to 6th grade that will introduce them to Jesus and help them learn about the Bible in a way that suits them best.

  • This team connects with parents and kids as they check-in to their FHKids classes during weekend services.

  • This team connects with students grades 7-12 to provide a safe place for students to hang out, make friends, and encounter God through weekly services, small groups, and dedicated LifeGroups.

  • This team creates an environment for young adults ages 18 to 29 to connect in community and experience God.

  • The production team serves behind the scenes to facilitate our weekend services + events through various opportunities including sound, lighting, cameras, lyrics, and platform team.

  • Our worship team leads the church by honoring God through music. These team members should have strong musical abilities, be proficient in playing their instrument or singing, and able to learn songs through listening and/or reading chord charts.

  • This team uses photography, videography, editing, motion graphics, writing, graphic design, and other talents to capture + promote the life-changing moments at Freedom House.
